I’m trying to print something off my dads iPad to the printer. It’s connected direct to the iPad. Goes through print preview but then nothing prints, yet the same process on the iPhone works fine?

Not sure.

If Dad's iPad is running a new enough iOS version,

If you have not done so,

Download and install the the latest HP Smart App

Just tested on iOS 13.2.2

Make sure Dad's iPad is connected to the same network as the printer.

hi thanks for the reply, he’s got an older iPad 3 so can’t update to latest software. No apps seem compatible and the printer is connected direct to iPad via Wifi settings

That's unfortunate.  Sometimes the answer is No.   Rats. 🐀

For those reading, at this writing,

HP Smart for iOS Compatibility:  Requires iOS 11.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Nice little machines - if budget allows it, a new one would make a fine Christmas present.  Smiling.
