2710e

Hello,

HP customer support cannot solve this one.

My new 'HP 2710e' cannot connect to web services.

My old 'HP 2710e' can connect to web services.

The message I receive is that HP Web Services is busy and unavailable right now, please try again later.

The other 2710e connects and works fine. I have instant ink for this printer.

HP Secure Erase done three times already.

Firmware fully updated.

Error still persists.

As a clue, HP Smart cannot setup this new printer via Wifi, it has to be done via USB on a windows 10 computer, there is no other way of setting this printer up. The other 2710e can be setup with HP Smart on both phone and windows 10.

I want instant ink for this printer, but cannot have instant ink with the printer unavailable to connect to web services.

I have the printers 'eprint' activation code and it tells me that I must use HP Smart to enable the activation code.

Activation fails due to 'cannot connect to HP Web Services' as they are busy and unavailable.

The other 'identical' printer works fine. No problems.

I think the printer has a certificate fault somewhere, as when I try and connect to the printers 'web service' I do get an invalid certificate error, whereas on the other printer I do not???

Has anyone else experienced this problem.

HP cannot resolve the issue. They blame my fully working router, even though I have two of the same printers connected to the network and the other works fine!!!

Go figure

Thanks.

Hi @digyweq,

Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing issues with connecting to web services from your HP printer using instant ink cartridges.

Please follow the steps listed below to remove and set up web services:
1. Open the embedded web server (EWS):
a. Find out the IP address or hostname of the printer by pressing the Information button (i) to print an Information page.
NOTE: The printer must be on a network and must have an IP address.
b. In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address or hostname assigned to the printer. For example, if the IP address is 123.123.123.123, type the following address into the web browser: http://123.123.123.123.
2. Click the Web Services tab, and then click Remove Web Services in the Web Services Settings section.
3. Click Remove Web Services.
4. Click Yes to remove Web Services from your printer.

5. Click the Web Services tab again.
6. In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions to accept the terms of use.
7. If prompted, choose to allow the printer to check for and install printer updates.
8. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.
