Boot Device Not Found-Passed all Hardware tests.

Problem Description:

Hello HP Community,

I'm encountering the "Boot Device Not Found – Hard Disk (3F0)" error on my HP laptop. I ran the System Diagnostics – Extensive Test, and all tests passed, including the hard drive/SSD (SMART, DST, etc.). The SSD wear check shows 0% wear, and remaining life is 100%.

However, the system still fails to detect a bootable device. Here's what I’ve confirmed:

• Storage device (SSD) is detected and in perfect health.

• No operating system is booting despite all components passing.

• The laptop shows this message on startup: 

“Boot Device Not Found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk. Hard Disk (3F0)”

I’ve attached screenshots of the error message and the diagnostic results.

What I need help with:

• Is this issue likely to be a BIOS/UEFI boot configuration problem?

• Could the OS (e.g., Windows) have been corrupted or deleted?

• What are the steps to check if the OS is recoverable or needs to be reinstalled?

• If reinstalling Windows is needed, how can I do it without access to the original OS?
