Just enrolled onto HP Instant Ink. The website is saying "Non Instant Ink Cartridge installed" but they are the setup cartidges and the spare colour cartidge is non Instant Ink aswell. Is there a way to manually order some HP Instant Ink cartidges? Otherwise I'll be wasting money because I won't be getting new cartidges from HP. Thanks in advance.

Hi @NinjasUnite
Welcome to HP Support Community!
We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊
It looks like you're running into an issue where HP Instant Ink isn't recognizing your setup cartridges, which can be frustrating.
You can manually order Instant Ink cartridges, but the process depends on your subscription status and HP's system recognizing your enrollment.
Here’s what you can try:
-
Check Your HP Instant Ink Account
- Log in to HP Instant Ink and see if there’s an option to request replacement cartridges.
- If your account shows that you’re enrolled but hasn’t shipped cartridges, you may need to contact HP support.
-
Contact HP Instant Ink Support
- If your account isn’t recognizing your enrollment properly, HP’s Instant Ink support team can manually process a cartridge order for you.
-
Verify Your Printer’s Enrollment Status
- Sometimes, printers need to be fully activated in the Instant Ink system before HP sends cartridges.
Try printing a Printer Status Report from your HP ENVY 5640 to confirm its connection to HP’s servers.
If HP Instant Ink still isn’t recognizing your printer, you might need to temporarily use standard HP cartridges until the issue is resolved. Let me know if you need help navigating HP’s support options!
