Yes - in all cases, HP Instant Ink Subscription is optional.

Said another way:  You do not need an Instant Ink subscription service to use your printer.

Yes - For a supported printer, connected to a supported Operating System / version, in a location on the planet where you can purchase HP ink for that printer,  the answer is:

Order HP cartridges for your printer --

When you receive the cartridges, install the ink into the printer.

Truth - You are not using very many words to describe what you are doing - not even the printer you are using.

We don't know whether you did have a subscription service that you have cancelled.

Why is that important?

If you did have a subscription to Instant Ink and you do not now have an active subscription to the service,

All the Instant Ink Cartridges must be removed from the printer and replaced with a full set of HP cartridges.
