Hi, I am currently enrolled to Instant Ink as is my Father. We received an email a while back stating that we would be moved onto a plan that costs £0.99 instead of free. Firstly we're not sure if we are going to stay with HP due to this. However I do have a question... Within my HP Instant Ink account it offers me 3 months for free if I upgrade my plan. So say I upgraded my plan to the Occasional Printing Plan for £1.99 per month. Could I then downgrade back to the Light Printing plan for £0.99 after the 3 months free?

I would guess that you cannot "go back" to the Not-quite-free plan.

Why?  When the free plan was available, it was always a one-way street.  That is, you could sign up for that plan initially, but if / when you left that plan, you could not go back.  This Not-quite-free plan might include that same restriction.

What to do?

Contact Instant Ink support at the website support number or the contact information included in your regional Terms of Service contract.

NOTES:

  • It is NOT necessary that you be enrolled to read the contract

  • The Terms of Service contract also provides contact information, usually in the very first section.

Thanks, I did contact HP via messenger but they were no help at all. I'll just stick with the lower plan but looking at changing brand anyway. P.S don't know why I couldn't get your name to tag with the @ symbol 🙁

OK.

I am not at all sure "messenger" is the same thing as actually calling (on the phone), but I don't have anything with which to compare.  I am not a subscribed Instant Ink customer.

Regardless, I understand.

Things will likely change again.  Keep an eye on the website / setup.

If a Community agent has anything more to offer on the subject, you will see the message  here before anyone contacts you using other methods.

We don't control the answers / solutions, unfortunately.

Stay Safe.
