Solved!

Embedded Web Services have stopped connecting to my Instant Ink account

HP Recommended
HP Envy Photo 6200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

Had my Envy Photo 6200 for just over a year and never had any issues with the Embedded Web Services or connecting to Instant Ink account for automatic sync of ink levels and remote printing.

All of a sudden the printer keeps saying it can't connect to the web services, something about server connection error.

I've gone through all the steps in the official HP documents here: https://www.support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05337026

The only thing I can't find or modify is the printer date/time which somebody on the forum said resolved their problem as it reverted back to an earlier date after an update. It doesn't appear to be shown, let alone an option either on the printer or laptop when you open the printer page via the EWS IP address.

All the network settings are correct and I can access via my laptop. If I go onto my HP Connected account, the printer shows as online. If I go to instant Ink account, it picks it up after a while. The problem is the printer won't transmit the Instant Ink data automatically. Why is this?

Nothing has changed hardware or software wise on the printer, laptop or router etc. Everything is up to date.

I can print remotely as well from Google browser and iPhone, so ePrint is definitely working which surely means the Embedded Web Services are running just fine?

The other odd thing is my wife's laptop has the HP Smart app installed, has all the printer setup, but every time she goes to print it says the printer is out of paper, yet it's not and I can print from my iPhone or other laptop etc completely fine. Maybe this is related to the EWS issue, if indeed there is an EWS issue.

What on earth is going on and how can I resolve these two issues?

Kind regards

Mitch
