Hi I’m after help. I have had my HP2710 printer for about 6 months. I haven’t used it for a few months and I have the red explanation light up. When I try and print it says I need to change my payment method which I have tried to do. Few times. I have tried to reset the printer to factory settings and even created a new account. I’m not frustrated as I hardly used it. When I set up a new account to see if that worked it then says the cartridges are not compatible but how they where the ones I got from HP. Please can anyone suggest anything. At this point I’m thinking I’m gonna put it in the bin. Thank you

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Yes, your description sounds like the printer needs help.

Printer likely became disconnected from Web Services - or was switched OFF -  which certainly breaks the connection to your Instant Ink Service.

If the subscription went unpaid, it was likely suspended at the least, and terminated at the best.

The ink in the printer is likely unusable - ink left in a printer that is switched off or without maintenance / regular use will dry out and cause "not printing" issues.

Toss and Gone...

Yes, you can "bin" the printer.

Be Aware:

If you did manage to update / reinstate your Instant Ink subscription, that is, if the subscription is now (again) active, you must cancel the subscription - tossing the printer won't cancel the service.

You can also cancel the subscription and keep the printer.
