Every time I try to enroll in instant ink I get the same error, GSS001. I have spent hours working on this issue with support with no resolution. I get to about 50% progress in the II set up screen and then get this error.
Things I have tried thus far:
Deleted the printer and added it back.
Refreshed web services on the printer.
Rebooted my router, computer and printer
Restored the printer to default settings
Nothing has helped. Any other suggestions or should I just go out and buy some cartridges?
If this is HP responding, my most recent case number is 5107562300

Hi @rr12159,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Follow the steps below-
Assign manual IP to the printer
The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Now, restart the printer and try to complete the enrollment.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you so much! Followed the steps. Regarding the firmware update, that is all up to date.
I tried to change the IP address. Questions-I am selecting the IPV 4 screen, correct? And I am entering the Google DNS servers into the "DNS configuration" boxes on the bottom, correct? That blanks out the IP address configuration on the top of the page, correct?
When I do this, and print a network configuration report it still shows that the printer is on the 192.168...... IP address.
Please advise!
