Hi @bmulugeta1020,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

The "HP Instant Ink Problem" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 typically means the printer is having trouble communicating with the Instant Ink service. This is usually caused by an expired payment method in your account or the printer losing its internet connection, which prevents it from verifying your subscription status.

Verify and Update Account Billing

  • Sign in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  • Check for any banner messages or notifications at the top of your dashboard regarding billing or payment errors.
  • Click on My Account and select Change Billing Information to ensure your credit or debit card on file is up to date.
  • Confirm that your postal code is entered correctly and save any changes to trigger a new account synchronization.

Refresh the Network and Web Services

  • On the printer control panel, check the Wireless icon to ensure it is a solid blue light, indicating a stable connection.
  • If the light is blinking, restart your router and wait two minutes before checking the printer's connection again.
  • Tap the ePrint icon on the printer screen and ensure Web Services is enabled; if it is off, select Setup to turn it back on.
  • Perform a "power reset" by unplugging the power cord from the back of the printer for 60 seconds while it is still on, then plugging it back in directly to a wall outlet.

Inspect the Instant Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door and remove all the ink cartridges.
  • Gently wipe the copper-colored electrical contacts on the back of each cartridge with a clean, lint-free cloth to remove any dust or ink buildup.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly into their color-coded slots until they snap into place.
  • Restart the printer once more to allow it to re-recognize the cartridges and check the updated subscription status from the HP servers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
