HP Smart Mobile Fax

I've been using the HP Smart App for scans/faxes... has worked perfectly the past few months.  

I scanned in a 9 page document, saved it, then wanted to scan via HP Smart App... the last fax I sent (the attachment/file) was pre-populated in the NEW fax.  I attempted to click the trash icon to get rid of it, but nothing is happening.

So, how do I get rid of the last fax/file?  I need to send a new fax with a new file/attachment?

I cannot find a help line anywhere.

I had this problem too, and my windows 10 machine had the HP Smart
windows app/tile, v 2.117.3

i fixed the 'attachment is always there' problem by going to the microsoft store
and editing the settings gear, deleting data and account info and cache and then
removing the app and then reinstalling it from the windows store.

i now have version 142.3.139.0 (i know, it sounds like an IP address)
but it works, and, there are menu choices that i didnt have before

so its possible the version doesnt update automatically
