My 99-year old father's HP8610 All-in-One will not print because he is unable to reset the connection for Instant Ink. He is locked down in assisted living and I have tried everything REMOTELY to troubleshoot/reinstall the drivers/etc. I have even gotten him to unplug and plug the printer back in. We have rebooted the entire system. HPPrintDoctor sees the printer, but it will not print a test page. It insists that I connect the printer to the Internet to support Instant Ink and it WILL NOT PRINT until I do. This I cannot talk him through this. There has got to be some way to bypass this. He doesn't need ink, he needs to PRINT.

@North1250, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Apologies for the inconvenience. If the printer is enrolled in Instant Ink and if you are using Instant Ink cartridges in the printer, the printer must be connected to the Internet.
If the printer is not connected to the Internet, you will not be able to print.
Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the computer.
Make sure the blue wireless light is steady on the printer. This means it is connected to a network.
If it is blinking, connect the printer to the network.
On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings
Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

Yes, I could do this if I was standing there. I know what it takes to connect it.
My father is 99. I cannot talk him through this remotely.
How can I cancel my Instant Ink to return the printer to a normal functioning device?

I understand. Kindly refer to this document to know how to cancel the Instant Ink subscription. Once cancelled, you will still be able to use the Instant Ink cartridges only until the current billing cycle. After which, you will have to use regular HP ink cartridges.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

"HP Instant Ink cartridges do not work after the end of your current billing period, and you are required to return them to HP. To continue printing after your billing cycle ends, make sure you have standard replacement ink cartridges ready to use in your printer."
Wonderful...I cancel the service and you make the printer inoperable. If he can't connect the printer to Instant Ink, how am I going to talk him through print cartridge replacement AND put him through the process of packaging up the old cartridges? You DON'T understand.
If I don't return them, what are you going to do?
This solution is worse.
