HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer

I have an HP inkjet printer. I replaced the cartridges but the black is still saying it's empty. I got the cartridge out of the same box as the color cartridge. I unplugged for several minutes and plugged back in to reset the printer. Still says the same thing. HELP!!!

Hi @Tryintoprint84, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Power Drain:

  • Remove the cartridges.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds, then release it.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall (make sure it's plugged directly into the wall, not a surge protector).
  • Reinsert the cartridges.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the black cartridge.
  • Gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
