Hi @Karen23_23,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the issue with your HP DeskJet 4122e is related to the printer being registered to a different HP Smart account. Here’s how you can resolve this:

Unlink the Printer from the Previous Account:

  • Log in to the HP Smart app: Use the account that was originally used to set up the printer, if possible.
  • Find the printer: Go to the list of printers in the app.
  • Remove the printer: There should be an option to remove or unlink the printer from the account.

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Locate the reset option: This is usually found in the printer’s settings menu. For the HP DeskJet 4122e, you can navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  • Perform the reset: Follow the on-screen instructions to restore the printer to its factory settings.

Set Up the Printer as New:

  • Download the HP Smart app: If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to set up the printer as a new device.
  • Create a new HP account: If you don’t have one, you may need to create a new account during the setup process.

Refer to this document:  HP DeskJet 4122e All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
