I got a hp envy 7100 and signed up for instant ink. My colour cartridge that came with printer has run out. So I put the instank ink colour one in and it is saying the ink cartridge won’t communicate with printer. Have tried taking it out and reinstalling it. Firmware is up to date. Have taken power lead out when it’s turned on, then switched it back on. Still not working. I have urgent documents I need to print. What do I do now

I experience the same problem. I just received the new Instant inks and installed them. The printer keeps warning: "the indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer. If this problem persists, replace the cartridges."
I tried all suggestions on HP Support and it was of no help. It is most likely that the tri-colour ink is defective (the black ink works properly).
How can I solve this issue? How can I request new ink?
Thanks!
