Hi @Bryant25,

I understand your HP DeskJet 4200e All-in-One printer isn’t working because the ink tab was removed, and you need a replacement cartridge. Let’s go through the steps to get it working again.

Identify the correct cartridge
– The HP DeskJet 4200e uses HP 67 or 67XL cartridges depending on your printer version.
– Check your printer model label or current cartridge to confirm the exact type.

Purchase a replacement cartridge
– You can order directly from the HP Store, a local electronics retailer, or an online marketplace.
– Make sure to get genuine HP cartridges to avoid compatibility issues.

Install the new cartridge
– Power on the printer and open the front cover.
– Wait for the cartridge carriage to center.
– Remove the new cartridge from packaging, remove any protective tape, and insert it into the correct slot.
– Close the cover and allow the printer to recognize the cartridge.

Run a test print
– Print a test page or alignment page to ensure the new cartridge is working properly.
– If the printer still shows an error, try removing and reseating the cartridge.

Prevent future issues
– Avoid pulling tabs or handling cartridges roughly.
– Keep extra cartridges on hand if multiple users access the printer.

I hope this helps.
