I never had instaink services nor do I want them. But I can’t print because it is asking for updated payment method.  I’m not giving it my cc # because it’s already trying to g to rob and if I give it the number I’m sure the next thing will be a charge on my card.  But I want to use my printer????

Hi @Jdgerk101,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding instant ink!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Confirm Subscription Status:

  • Visit the HP Instant Ink account login page and check if there's an account associated with your printer or email.
  • If you find an account that you did not authorize, you can cancel the subscription through the account dashboard.

Remove Instant Ink Cartridges:

  • If Instant Ink cartridges were inadvertently installed, replace them with regular HP cartridges that are not part of the Instant Ink program.
  • This may resolve the issue as Instant Ink cartridges require an active subscription to function.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for a firmware update for your printer model on the HP Support website that might resolve subscription-related errors.

Reset Printer Settings:

  • Try resetting the printer to factory settings which might remove any settings related to the Instant Ink program.
  • For details on how to reset your specific printer model, refer to your printer’s user manual or the HP website.

Verify Your Printer Setup:

  • Ensure your printer is set to use standard cartridges and not enrolled in any subscription service.
  • If necessary, restore your printer to default settings through the settings menu.

Block Future Subscriptions:

  • Clearly specify to any HP service representatives that you do not wish to enroll in Instant Ink now or in the future.

Monitor Your Accounts:

  • Keep an eye on any alerts or changes imposed on your printer to ensure it is functioning as a regular, non-subscription device.

I hope this helps.
