HP OfficeJet 8012e All-in-One Printer

Hi.

Recently relocated to Dubai. I had the Instant Ink contract in the UK. The issue I have is that the printer won't print nor scan. The error is that for the printer to work, the cartridges need to be registered for Instant Ink with HP which the UAE doesn't do. There's no Instant Ink set up here which is poor for HP and the UAE market here.

I was advised by HP here that I need to buy new ink cartridges to replace the British ones and that will correct the problem. Is this true? Surely, there must be a way to print without the need to register for Instant Ink.

Would really appreciate some good advice here, thanks.

Hi @ChumleyDubai,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an Instant Ink issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

If the region does not support Instant Ink then you have to cancel the subscription and then you may use a normal ink cartridge but then the printer has to be regionalized to the new country.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
