If the print heads are clogged, new cartridges don't work. Also if you try to use HP print cartridges you purchase from the store instead of the ones they send you, the printer rejects them. You can purchase a print head cleaner kit on Amazon for about $15 and watch Utube video how to do it. That worked for me..

I have the same issue with a new cartridge error and I’m trying to send a message to request a replacement for the faulty ink cartridge. Please could someone kindly advise as soon as possible?
old tricolour cartridge is fine, brand new one installed today will not work.
Best Regards

How does a support engineer saying they will send you a PM qualify as the accepted solution to this problem? More utter nonsense from HP.
Anyway, I have found a fix to it myself. I've cancelled my Instant Ink subscription and bought an Epson printer. It's all working perfectly now.

Hi @serene913
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
If you have received a replacement ink cartridge from HP and still the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
