I'm having the same issue with instant ink, Ive had this about a year now and its been fine as I dont print that often but I went to print recently and the cartrige was empty and theres nothing been sent for months now. Surly the printer should have sent some notification to get more ordered by now.

The other issue is that when I do print the print counter goes up but blank sheets come from the printer as the cartrige is empty. The printer knows the cartrige is empty and it has done for months.

I cant find any numbers to call customer service and the only thing I have found is this forum, what are you supposed to do to get in contact with them?

Hi @Cvapez,

Welcome to the Hp support forums and a good day to you. I have read the post regarding not receiving ink cartridges on time. I will be delighted to assist you here.

  • Did you try to make copies directly from the printer and check if it copies correctly to isolate the issue correctly;y?

I will be sending you a private message requesting some information to be sent by privately you to assist you correctly.

Please keep checking your HP forum private message and furnish the relevant details.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

So, apparently, HP has known of this problem since at least August, 2017 and people are still logging complaints.

I joined in September, and ran out of ink in October. When I try to contact cusomer service, there's no phone # listed for "instant Ink", and the Chat sessions are closed when I'm available. It's now Decmeber and I still have no ink.

What is HP doing to solve this problem and maintain customer loyalty? Please don't tell us to "do this, go here, PM there"...we all signed up for a PAID service to make our lives convenient, not to volunteer our time for an HP Beta test.

You have our names, snail mail addresses, email addresses, and credit card information. Figure out a fix, compensate us for the inconvenience, and move on. I think 1 year of free ink would be adequate compensation for the several hours of lost time and frustration I've spent here.

How do the rest feel?

Hi @mpardus,

I reviewed the post.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.

They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.

Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.

Seriously? You need more details?

You have everything but my dog's middle name.

The whole premise of HP's scheme is that you have enough information to connect to my printer and computer, monitior my ink needs, and overcharge me if I guess wrong on how much I'll print in a month.

You're really quick to use all of that info when it ups the tab...but when the end user has a problem, you need MORE?

This isn't customer service. I think you know that, you're just paid for appearances.

Apparently, HP thinks we're too busy/stupid to call you out on this nickle and dime stuff. (becasue, HP knows that thousands of nickles and dimes add up...)

Fix it. Period. There are other printers on the market.

I'm having the same issue. Haven't used the printer much in over a year. It's showing one color as depleted, but I can't order more because I'm being told to they're not instant ink cartridges. Can't pull up any contact info from the Instant Ink site.

I am having the same issue. When I first signed up for Instant Ink, it worked great! I have been logged off for several months, but I got everything reconnected in early December, and now my printer shows my ink levels low and no ink shipment on the way. I wish there were a button on the account status page to request ink when the automated system doesn't seem to be working. Now its the weekend, the live chat is closed, and I probably won't think about this until the next time I need to print something, which may be a few weeks. I've been paying $3 a month for months for a service that I wasn't actually connected to, and now that I'm reconnected, it isn't doing what it's supposed to be doing!

Update: I found the last ink cartridges that were delivered to me. Whoops! Apparently they've been in storage since I moved in February!

I agree with you 100%.  ive been paying every month for over a year and have gotten only the first pack.  This is the worst thing ive ever signed up for.  and no phone number to order or talk to a real person for help is just unprofessional to say the least.   they really need to find a fix for this asap.

I can't print. Replaced the instant ink cartridge with the new instant ink ones i was sent. still can't print. It says they are not the right ones but they are.

This happened to me too.  I spent ages finding the Chat link and they sent me a replacement. They said sometimes the distributors got fake ones
