I recently tried installing my first instant ink cartridge and it doesn't appear to be accepted by the printer. The printer states "Cartridge problem... remove and reinstall the cartridge..." etc. The PC software states that the cartridges are damaged or have failed.
I have tried all the solutions listed here without success: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-envy-photo-6200-all-in-one-printer-series/9073045/model/1731...
When I reinsert the old (empty) cartridge, the printer indicates that its empty but otherwise returns no errors. The fact that the above solutions made no difference, and the old cartdige is accepted ok, indicates to me that the issue lies with the new cartridge itself.
However, its not clear to me how I can get hold of a replacement cartridge from HP. Its just the colour cartridge that I've tried BTW.

For the benefit of those reading the thread, this was resolved with a new cartridge, the original one being faulty. I hope this doesn't happen often as I like the idea of instant ink but i can't wait a week for a new cartridge every time I get a failed one.

My yellow cartridge was empty. I installed another one, which turned out to also be empty. Now I can't remove that cartridge. I've pushed it in repeatedly, but it doesn't pop out. I have a new cartridge ready to install.
