I need a phone # for technical support. I am receiving no response via online support. Tried twice with no response, the first time and the second time.The agent never replied back after an hour. I need HP+ deactivated. My non brand HP in cartridges, will no longer work and in my online search, it seems it was because my printer was set up with hp+. Any suggestions?

HP+ and Instant Ink are NOT the same service -- different animals.

HP+ Service and Contract

 

If you are asking about the generally optional HP+ service contract that adds premium print and scan services -- and -- in the case of a new printer -- an extra year of standard hardware warranty to the printer --

Then

Once enabled during setup,

HP+ cannot be rescinded / cancelled.

 

Said another way:

Once enable, either optionally (as mentioned) or because you purchased one of the few "we" models, HP+ becomes a permanent part of the printer.  You can perhaps forcibly remove the premium print and scan features -- the requirement for genuine HP ink cartridges remains in place.

What if?

 

What if you did not enable HP+  and the result you are seeing is simply due to trying to use an ink cartridge that lacks an embedded HP chip?

 

The printer is designed to use HP ink -- or, at the least -- refilled / remanufactured ink that includes the mandatory HP chip / circuitry.

 

There is no legal way around the requirement.

 

Ask your ink supplier if they adhere to this requirement.

Thanks for the advice after finally being able to talk to you technical support.They confirmed what was in this message. I am stuck with using genuine HP ink cartridges. I've done some research online and determined that an ink tank is my best way to go. I have purchased a new printer and it is on its way, to arrive on Monday,  january 5th. Thanks again for the info, I appreciate your time.

True - Sometimes the answer is "Do something else."

 

Smart Tank printers tend to lack some of the more refined print and scan features.

 

The printers do have a nice ink system and seem to be popular for that reason.
