Need an Instant Ink program continuous Internet connection?

I have an HP Office Jet Pro 6968

 

I have my printer USB connected. There is internet, but NOT wifi (we are not allowed to connect our printers to wifi)...

 

How can I make Instant Ink work? It should still work, correct? It says no USB cables, but I don't understand why not. Is there another way to 'hard wire' the printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

For an Instant Ink program to work, the printer should be connected to the network. 

 

As you cannot connect the printer through a Wi-Fi network, try connecting it through a Wired (Ethernet) connection. To know more, refer to step# 1 and 2 from this document
