First, when I enter the serial number from the printer, it reads HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series on the touch pad, but HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-In-One Printer at HP online.
But the real problem is that periodically the printer powers down or something to "sleep," I'm guessing, and the Power button can't be used to wake it up. I must unplug the printer from its power strip, wait a bit, then plug it in again in order to restart. Running Tahoe 26.5.2 and HP app 26.2. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it?

Hi @tmbrown
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand that your printer becomes unresponsive after entering sleep mode, and that the power button does not wake it up, requiring you to unplug and reconnect the power cord to restart it. I also understand your concern regarding the model name discrepancy between the printer's control panel and the HP Support website. I would request you to please follow the steps:
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn the printer on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on if it does not power on automatically.
Check Power Management Settings
- On the printer control panel, navigate to:
- Setup/Settings >Power Management.
- Disable Auto Power Off (if available).
- Set Sleep Mode to the longest available time or disable it, if the option is available.
- Save the changes.
Update the Printer Firmware
- On the printer control panel:
- Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer (menu names may vary).
- Install any available firmware updates.
- Alternatively, update the firmware using the HP App or HP Support website.
Restore Factory Defaults
- Open Setup/Settings.
- Select Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Choose Restore Factory Defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network or Ethernet after the reset.
- Reconfigure any custom settings.
I Hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
