HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I keep getting an error message on my printer that says  I need to check my HP account for more information. This error is preventing me from printing, copying, or any function on the device. I have made sure the device was on my HP account, I have made sure the updates were performed on the printer, I have replaced the ink on it, literally everything imaginable I have done to get this device functioning again. Still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @CHORN,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can feel how exhausting it must be to try everything imaginable and still be blocked by a vague “Check your HP account” error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e. Let’s walk through a simple, effective fix together so you can get back to printing, copying, and working without interruptions.

Step-by-Step Solution

1. Check Internet Connection

Make sure your printer is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network:

  • On the printer screen, go to Settings → Network Setup → Wireless Settings.
  • Confirm it’s connected to your home/work Wi-Fi.

2. Sign In to HP App

  • Open the HP app on your computer or phone.
  • Sign in with your HP account.
  • Go to Settings → My Printers and confirm your 8035e is listed.
  • If not, add it manually using the printer’s IP address or QR code.

3. Check HP Instant Ink Status

If you’re enrolled in Instant Ink:

  • Visit the HP Instant Ink Dashboard and log in.
  • Check for:
    • Expired subscription
    • Billing issues
    • Cartridge authentication problems

If there’s a problem, resolve it or contact HP support directly from that page.

4. Sign Out and Sign Back In

  • On the printer screen, go to Settings → HP Account → Sign Out.
  • Restart the printer.
  • Sign back in using your HP account credentials.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause account sync issues:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
