I have a HP Envy 5640. I received an email to say I was disconnected from the Internet.

I have tried switching the machine on and off but a blue screen appears with the numbers and letters as follows

B8084F8E

it changes each time you switch it on and off .

In this mode it won't do anything.

I have tried taking out the cartridges and reinserted them to no avail.

We have restarted the Internet for another issue but that hasn't worked either.

At a loss what to do next.

Hi @Dandy58,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I'd be happy to help you.

It seems like you are experiencing connection issues with your HP Envy 5640 printer, and the error code appearing on a blue screen might be causing the issue. Here's what you can try to resolve the problem:

Troubleshooting Steps:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. See if the error message clears.

Check Network Connection:

  • Make sure your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure the Wi-Fi network is operational and other devices are connecting to it without issues.

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Although you mentioned trying this, make sure that the cartridges are firmly seated and no residue is preventing them from making proper contact.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • If the printer is able to print or connect via USB, connect it to your computer and check for any available firmware updates using the HP Support Assistant or on the HP Official HP® Support.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on the printer.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
