Hi @gramyLin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, but not connecting to the HP Instant Ink service. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the internet. Printers enrolled in Instant Ink require an active internet connection for communication with HP Services.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, router, and computer or mobile device.
  • Restart the router first, then the printer, followed by your computer or mobile device. This helps clear any network connectivity issues.

Reconnect Printer to Network:

  • Disconnect any USB cables from the printer.
  • Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure you select the correct network name (SSID).

Check Printer Status in HP App:

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Go to your printer’s control panel and check for any available firmware updates in the Printer Maintenance section. Updating to the latest firmware may resolve connectivity issues. Official HP® Support

Check Web Services Connection:

  • Access the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS) and confirm that Web Services are enabled. This is essential for features like Print Anywhere and Instant Ink.

Reset Web Services:

  • If problems persist, try resetting the Web Services on your printer via the EWS.

Check HP App Account:

  • Log in to your HP App account to verify the printer's connection status and ensure there are no account or payment method issues.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm still having problems! I just dont understand why I'm having problems with it. The blue wifi is on and it says I'm connected.

I have disconnected the router, printer, and computer. Restarted the router, printer, computer. Checked hp instant ink, still says not connected. I updated the firmware and tried to restart the wifi. It was already connected so I clicked on restart wifi set up. Now it says I have the wrong wifi password! It is correct.

I guess thats what I get for buying on sale at Costco! It's a little over a year old.

I'm ready to throw it in the garbage and go without.

This is beyond ridiculous.

My son says to connect it directly with the ethernet. I have a cable on order. Should be here tomorrow. I will try again if this doesn't solve the problem then I guess its Goodbye to instant ink and hp printers.

My old printer was the best had it for years with no problems. Then a irreplaceable part broke.

Hi @gramyLin,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP printer's Wi-Fi connectivity. Here are some steps you can follow to try to resolve the situation:

Verify Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router and there are no physical obstructions in the way.
  • Make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough.

Check Network Details:

  • Confirm that you are selecting the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID).
  • Re-enter your Wi-Fi password carefully, ensuring there are no typos or extra spaces.

Software and Firmware:

  • Check again for any firmware updates for your printer, as this might resolve connectivity issues.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • If the problem persists, consider resetting the network settings on your printer.

Wireless Network Reset:

  • If everything else has failed, resetting your wireless network might help. This involves resetting your router to its factory settings and setting it up afresh. Ensure you have the necessary information or assistance before doing this.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
