Hello,
This isn’t really a problem( that was last night) this is more of a statement about being in the HP monthly ink replenishment club. I am purposely signed up for that because I have an eBay store so I want to make sure that I am always able to print a shipping label. My printers ink is half full and I have new ones ready to go. As you can imagine I was furious last night when I couldn’t print and it showed “ink error” I wasted an hour trying to figure out what the error was. The virtual assistant was no help I finally figured out it was my account. I had to cancel the card I used for the monthly auto pay. DO YOU THINK THE ERROR MESSAGE SHOULD SAY “Account error” instead ? It wasn’t the ink at all and the more I thought about it this morning I realized something … and I am furious WHY DOES THE INSTA INK DEPT THINK THEY CAN TAKE MY PRINTER HOSTAGE BECAUSE I DIDNT PAY THE MONTHLY $4.99 for Dec. ? I have ink in the printer so why are they allowed to cut me off from using my printer ? The printer is owned by me and paid for 🤔 HOW DARE THEM PREVENT ME FROM PRINTING SOMETHING FROM MY PRINTER.They don’t own it. I’m giving them a call tomorrow because that is ridiculous . What if I didn’t have a new card to use with the account ? I wouldn’t be able to print something with my ink that is full and ready to go ? That’s just wrong

The above is one of the biggest misconceptions regarding the Instant Ink program. When you sign up for the Instant Ink program you are NOT purchasing ink, you are purchasing a subscription to a set number of pages per month. The ink is supplied, but remains the property of HP and must be returned if you cancel the program in accordance with the terms of service. See sections 5.d and 9.c of the terms of service here. If you do not pay the monthly fee the Instant Ink cartridges will be disabled.
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.
