I also have a working printer again.  I'm not sure if HP changed something overnight, or the last steps I tried with HP WhatsApp support actually fixed something.

The last thing I tried with them last night, was to configure Manual DNS server entries on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the IPv4 config in the wireless setup page on the HPSmart App - I can only think that this is some magic reset code.  It made no changes immediately, but this morning my printer is no longer complaining about being updated.  It did complain about the ink cartidges being installed being previously used elsewhere, but this could be some result of the many troubleshooting steps I tried over the last 2 weeks.  Removing and re-installing the ink cartidges, seem to make things better and I can print - the HPSmart tool does still complain about "used cartidges", so I have some replacement cartidges being sent.

Hope that others have working printers again !!

That is great news. Same for me. The HP technician told me just now that the problem their end is completely resolved, so hopefully we can all get back to using our printers normally!

Same here - removed ink cartridges, powered printer off and on, reinstalled ink cartridges did one further power off & on. Everything working now. 

This must have been something at HP, and the 45 minutes I spent with an HP technician, which turned into a sales call, really didn’t impress me now.  Thanks to the good people of this forum for getting this all fixed   👏

Working here now too following the ink cartridge removal/reinstall. Interestingly, it said there was an important message for me waiting at hpinstajtink.com. No message but when I logged in it showed the printer as ready to print. Phew!
