HP DeskJet 3720
iOS

My printer works via my iPhone. Has been fine for 8 months. Now it says “Unable to join the network, DIRECT - F5- HP Deskjet’. This network appears in my wifi drop box and when I put in password 12345678, this is the error msg I get. Can anyone suggest how I can get reconnected to this network?

@Nikki01, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

It seems like you are using the wifi-direct option to connect the printer and the iOS device. This is used when you do not have access to a wireless router.

Note: There will be no internet access on the iOS device while using the wifi-direct.

For more info on connecting the devices using wifi-direct, kindly refer to - Printing with Wi-Fi Direct

If the issue persists, restore network settings to default settings

● Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button (X) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Now try to re-setup the printer.

Check for any software updates on the iOS device

Go to Settings > General > Update the software.

If you have a wireless router, connect both the devices to the wireless router(same network). To know how, refer to this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
