Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Instant Ink. Check out this link: HP INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER. .

I have an HP OfficeJet 8015e, which could possibly be the most useless piece of technology ever made. I am trying to print on it, and it keeps giving me the same error message. "A problem has occurred with your HP account and you will be unable to print until the issue is resolved."

The HP Smart app swings back and forth between saying everything is fine and properly displaying the correct (filled) ink levels, and saying that the printer cannot connect and displaying empty ink levels.

I'm so annoyed because there is legitimately no customer service I can access outside of the AI bot, which can't process it. I also can't figure out what the account error actually is, through the app or printer.

Has anyone ever encountered something like this before?

Have you logged in to your account and checked what is the problem?

Hi @das998 , mate,

1. Officejet 8015e is a printer that needs to be registered on a HP account for normal work, also this printer needs regular Wifi Internet connection available.

  • So the first thing to check is that printer should be connected to Wifi.

2. Account error is related to printers enrollment in HP Instant Ink or initial printers registry in HP Plus system.

3. if your printer was registered on enrolled with HP Instant Ink then perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Check your Instant Ink account status

An active Instant Ink account is required to use Instant Ink cartridges. If your account has not yet been activated, is canceled, or is no longer active because payment cannot be processed, then activate the account or use regular HP cartridges from a local retailer.

To use Instant Ink cartridges, make sure your printer is activated and the payment type is up to date.

  1. Go to HP Smart.

  2. Sign in to your account.

  3. Click Account in the left menu.

  4. Click Shipping & Billing.

  5. Click Manage your payment method under your payment method. Follow the on-screen instructions to update your payment details.

  6. Click HP Instant Ink, then Overview in the left menu.

  7. Click Printer Details in the Status section and verify that the printer status is Enrolled.

  8. If the printer status is Cancelled, click Keep Enrollment if that button appears at the top of the page, or click Enroll Another Printer and follow the on-screen instructions to enroll the printer.
