No matter how many times I re-register my printer, connect and disconnect it, turn it off and on again, restore factory defaults or network settings. Nothing works.
All I get is ‘Web Services could not be set up’ and occasionally I get the constant ‘connect printer’ page come up when I’m in the middle of doing something on it. I have recently moved but the last time I moved with it, it was fine. I don’t know if its due to being on a shared wifi (I’m at University but private halls). It’s annoying, I need my printer! Please help!

I would guess that the types of connection you must use is exactly the problem.

Web Services requires a stable connection from the printer directly to the Internet.

Too, if the printer Wi-Fi connection is changing (for example the IP) due to the type of Wi-Fi setup used by the network, this can interrupt that connection between the printer and the computer.

Wi-Fi Direct - Wireless without a router - can be used to connect the printer to the computer.

Wi-Fi Direct cannot be used to connect Web Services.

Thank you for your reply!
yes it was my internet and what I had to do was add my printer’s MAC address to the list of devices on my internet in my account.

I then had an issues with my instant ink not connecting but this was due to an error message on my account/needing to change card details.
It now works fine!
thank you for your advice

You are welcome.

I have found that mentioning the MAC address to someone who has never used it tends to confuse rather than help.  That you are using this method speaks to why you recognised the reasoning, know how to check the setup, and then resolve the issue.  Smiling.  Good job.

Glad it helped and that everything is "back to normal".

Happy Printing.
