HP printer Envy 7640 has stopped connecting to Web Services for Instant Ink since last one week. The error message on printer screen is "Server Problem - printer could not connect to web services". HP Tech Help has tried fixing the problem but has not succeeded despite attempts by 3 different technical support calls. My ISP provider XFINITY/Comcast has run all checks on the router/modem, and everything is good from their end. Printer can connect to the internet BUT not to the Web Services - Instant Ink. Please help?

Hi Krishan, thanks for replying. The next step would be to setup the printer and try enabling the web-serviced for a new claim code. To enable the web services, try these steps -
1. From the printer control panel display, touch Setup .
2. Touch Web Services Setup .
3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.
4. In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.
NOTE: If a printer update is available, the printer will download and install the update, and then restart. You will have to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up ePrint .
NOTE: If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the on-screen instructions to set up a proxy server. If you do not have the proxy details, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the network.
5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.
The claim code is the first part of the eprint.com email address.
Once you have the claim code, login to your instant ink account using this link. Click on the bell or notifications icon > Add Printer Now and follow the on-screen instructions.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted.

Thanks a lot Asmita for such prompt reply and instructions. The printer is powered down now, if I understand you correctly, I should turn it on and follow instructions you sent from the printer screen only? Correct?
Thanks,

Dear Asmita,
Good news, at last my web services connection is back after one week of sheer frustration and countless hours speaking to the Tech Help. Your instruction to partial-full reset worked. Thanks a million! for your help, I was at the end of my wits and was about to cancel Instant Ink service, but you saved it! THANK YOU!
Best regards,
KPS23
PS: Thanks to Jeet Singh too for his help!
