Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I currently own a perfectly working HP OfficeJet 8040 printer that is enrolled with Instant Ink.  I received an email stating that my printer model is no longer supported by Instant Ink and my current cartridges will no longer work after Nov. 14, 2020.  But yet you sent me a new cartridge a couple of weeks ago!  I cannot find any information on the list of models that are no longer supported and have yet to receive a response after contact HP support.  Despite what the email states, the OfficeJet 8040 is still listed as a supported model on the Instant Ink website AND is still being sold as a qualified model!  I see a lot of questions/ discussions on different forums about the lack of transparency from HP on this matter.  I think your customers deserve some answers.  At this rate, I am looking for another brand.  I can't stand by a company that disregard the concerns of their customers and the environment.   #HPInstantInkScam

Hi @moseleynchi,

I'd like to help!

It was an automated email, please ignore it.

HP OfficeJet 8040 Series is eligible for instant ink service and the service should continue without interruption.

Hope this helps!

Hi Jay_G24,

It wasn't "an" email, it was four or five emails and the last one had a distinct air of urgency in it's message. I think that HP should IMMEDIATELY send emailed corrections to all 8040 series owners and anyone else who received these misleading emails, thereby legitimizing the information you just shared about our printers no longer being an endangered species. I have a new printer on order, which will now need to be returned, all at my own expense and wasted efforts. HP probably lost a lot of customers because of this mistake. It would undoubtedly help your public relations if apologies and credits were offered to the affected consumers.

I understand, I will definitely share your feedback with the concerned team.

Have a good day

I just received another email from HP Instant Ink stating that my printer will no longer be supported so decided to try the chat option.  In the past I was not able to get through to chat with a rep.  I am now told by the rep that the EMAILS ARE CORRECT!!  HP Instant Ink will no longer support this model after November 14th!!!  What in the world is going on?????????????
