Trio colour ink cartridge out of cyan but estimated ink level showing as okay. This means that no new printer cartridge is being ordered via my instant ink subscription plan. I have run the cartridge cleaning steps but the print quality diagnostic still shows that there is no cyan or no light cyan.

Resolved problem myself by simply printing a further 25 colour printed pages, though of course the colour was not correct because the cartridge had run out of cyan. This used up enough ink to trigger the instant ink process and a new replacement cartridge was ordered. Not the best solution as the instant ink resupply should have been triggered by there being no cyan.

  • Have you tried any alternate inks?
  • Does the copy print out the same way? 
  • What's the application you are trying to print from? 
  • Have you tried printing from a different application or device? 

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
