HP Officejet 6100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer at my workplace was working fine this morning Really. Don't have a clue what changed.

Now everything it prints is too large, as if it were printing the image to fit on tabloid but still printing on letter size paper. It works fine in MS Word. Just seems to be an issue when printing from CorelDraw.  I should mention that CorelDraw's print preview looks fine, image is the correct size.

I tried shutting down the laptop and the printer, restarting the laptop and then turning the printer back on. It is a network connection, but as I said Word is having no problems printing the proper size image.

Any ideas on how to fix this are appreciated! The sooner, the better, since this is costing me valuable time at work!

Thanks,

Lisa

I need to add that BOTH CorelDraw and Corel PhotoPaint are both printing twice actual size to the HP Officejet 6100.  I created a square in each program and when it prints the square is exactly twice the size it's supposed to be.

I'm at a loss as to what setting is causing this problem.  Other programs (like Word) are printing to the HP just fine.  Corel programs print fine to other printers.

Hello?  Anybody out there?  I've posted here and in a CorelDraw forum and no one seems to be responding...

I found the problem as written about here:  https://community.coreldraw.com/talk/coreldraw_x3_and_older/f/coreldraw-graphics-suite-x3/26421/prin...

It only happens when printing in draft mode.

Go figure.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This seems like an Application-specific issue with CorelDRAW since printing from other applications is working fine.

Let us try these steps:

Step 1: Update windows

  • Select the Start button > open Settings.
  • Click on Update & security > Windows Update
  • Click the Check for updates button.
  • After the update finishes downloading, click the Restart Now button.

Step 2: Update the CorelDRAW application

Step 3: If the issue persists, contact CorelDRAW support team by clicking here

Let me know how this goes.

I found one solution, not really a solution but more like a work around.  Things print correct size if I select anything besides "draft" for print quality.  As long as I use "draft" everything prints twice as large as it should, objects, text, etc.  Too bad since I prefer draft quality to save on ink, especially on drafts and proofs.

BTW, everything is up-to-date, Windows 10 and CorelDraw 2018.

Let us try to install the printer with TCP/IP port which changes the drivers being used that may resolve this issue:

Step 1: Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the wireless icon  at the bottom of the printer screen

Step 2: Input the IP address in the topmost box of a browser and hit search

Step 3: If you are able to view the EWS page of the printer, then proceed to the next step

Step 4: Install the printer by adding a new TCP/IP port

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.

  2. Search Windows for devices and printers, and then select Devices and Printers from the list of results.

  3. Click Add a printer.

Figure : Clicking Add a printer

Clicking Add a printer in the Devices and Printers window
  4. If necessary, click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.(else skip this step)

  5. Click The printer that I want isn't listed.

  6. Select Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname, and then click Next.

  7. Select TCP/IP Device in the Device type drop-down menu.

  8. Type the printer IP address in the Hostname or IP address box.

  9. Deselect the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use box, and then click Next.

The computer detects the TCP/IP port.

Figure : Deselecting the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use box and clicking Next

Deselecting the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use box and clicking Next
  10. On the Install the printer driver window, click Windows Update.

  11. After the update completes, select HP in the Manufacturer list, select your printer in the Printers list, and then click Next.

  12. Try to print.

Let me know how this goes.
