I was low on ink and the printer was printing in color at the time. Put new cartridges in and now the printer won't print in color. Swapped back to old color cartridges and still does not work. Have reinstalled all software, reset to factory defaults, re-updated printer, have tried everything via the support forums but still not working.

To diagnose this issue, print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page, and then evaluate the results.

Load plain white paper in the input tray.

From the printer control panel, open the Setup
menu.

Open the Reports or Tools menu.
-
Touch Print Quality Report.
A Print Quality Diagnostic Page prints.
If you find any defects or missing color, try the steps below:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly vented and seated correctly
- Clean the printhead
- Align the printhead

Yes I tried everything. The only thing HP can say is you just need to buy a new printer. This printer has barely been used. This seems quite unacceptable. It was working, although the ink levels were low, it was printing color. Then I change the cartridges and all of the sudden color stops printing all together. Seems very odd.
