My 8725 won't let me change any settings. I keep getting a padlock with error message, "the feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer". I set up the printer and only one that would have access. I included a few snapshots of screen on printer with messages. I'm not using a PC with this printer, I've used my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 8 ) for 2 years without any issues until now.

Hi @moviebuf247

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

We may have to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I'm having the same problem with my OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer.  I set it up a number of months ago, but now I need to change the network settings due to a router change and I get the same "This feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer."  Is it possible to get the directions to reset my printer?

Perhaps it's better for me to start a new post, so I'll do that.  I can't seem to delete this reply though.
