Please exuse my extreme frustration.:womanfrustrated:

Not a single day has gone by since the purchase of this printer that some problem or another has occurred. When it is working it prints beautifully.

1. Every other day there is a printer offline message. Some days, it feels like printing to the "HP Officejet Pro 8740" printer. Other days, it decides that is offline but will print to the "HP Universal Printing PS" option. I have it on the TC/ICP port.

2. Today after printing two envelopes, I replaced the envelopes with 8.5 x11 paper. Error message "paper in tray doesn't match selected" or something.  After 5 minutes it spits out an envelope that must have been pulled into the printer, but still gives the message so I shut it down.

Now, I know that all computer problems are user error (used to do customer support way back in the day). And I know that the printer is not really "deciding" what to do unless a special gremlin is installed along with it that I have to exorcise so give me instructions if that is the case.

But this is immensely frustrating. It is primarily the two HP laptops running Windows 10 that have these issues. Apple MACS? Not at all.  Why in the wide world of all that is holy and unholy would HP PRINTERS NOT COMMUNICATE WELL WITH HP LAPTOPS? (pardon the scream)

Please help me understand or let me know how to return it and find something else that is not such a hassle.  Many thanks.

Hi pfc09,

I've attached a link here to help troubleshoot the Printer going offline issue.

It could be related to the printer configuration.
