Officejet Pro 8600 N911g
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g loses wireless connection to a work HP 14" Laptop running Windows 10 Pro build 1909 in the middle of prints or at the beginning, meanwhile stays connected to other home HP Laptop running Windows 10 Home in S mode.  Official printer warranty support ended in 2013 and no new drivers since 2018.  Hardware is HP 14" laptop and Netgear wireless router.

Printer status on Windows 10 Pro laptop  ultimately ends in Error after 1 or several prints working, and I sometimes see the printer status showing Ready or offline intermittently.  Researched forums to determine Printer was previously installing as WSD device explaining why it fails.

Per the support forum feedback, I turned off WSD on the printer,  followed instructions to remove all drivers, installed full software and drivers from 2018, then add printer via IP address manually.  Ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.3 and it passed.

Prints still either start then stop halfway, or result in error where the job isn't received.

Welcome to HP support community.

Reset the printer's network settings

1. Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.

Set up the printer using the Wireless Setup Wizard again

1. Set up the printer hardware. See the getting started guide or the setup poster that came with your printer.

2. On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network.

3. Touch Wireless, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK.

4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
