Officejet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Purchased a new HP Officejet Pro 8710 All-in-One printer.  It will not print with Roxio's Photosuite 13 or Photosuite 15.  Old HP printer worked fine with both programs.  Problem started with purchase of the new 8710 printer.  Roxio says there is no solution other than buying another Roxio product, with no assurance that would solve the problem.

It acts like it is going to print, but then seems to time out when the "printing" message gos off.  No error message of any kind.

Hi,

May you able to print to your printer by setting an alternate driver as following?

  1. Right click the Start button and select Control Panel, then open Devices and Pinters.
  2. Right click the 8710 icon and select Printer Properties, open the Ports tab, take a note of the used port and close that window.
  3. Click Add Printer, then press The Printer that I want isn't listed.
  4. Select a local port or a manual port with similar settings and press Next.
  5. Keep the LPT1 port and press Next.
  6. Select HP, then select the HP Deskjet 6940 from the printers list and press Next.
Note: if the 6940 model isn't listed press Windows Update. allow the process a few moment to complete and then it should be listed.
  7. Follow the steps to complete the wizard.
  8. Right click the added pritner, select Printer Properties, within the ports tab select the port used by the 8710 and press OK.

Now try printing from PhotoSuite with the newly added 6940 driver and check if you may see any difference.

You are welcome @earlagee. great to see it worked!

By the way, if you may need to print on both sides from Photosuite, the duplex may be disabled by default for the 6940..

To enable it right click the 6940 icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available from the 6940 driver too.

Shlomi

Thanks Shlomi:  I had not tried to print both sides yet, but I sure would have missed it when I did.  I really appreciate it.
