I’ve downloaded the hp app onto my iPhone and it’s asking for a password to set up the deskjet printer

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Are you connecting the printer and the iPhone using a wireless router or are you using wifi-direct?

Wifi-direct is used when you do not have access to a wireless router. The default wifi-direct password is 12345678. For more info on wifi-direct, refer to this document.

Note: There will be no internet access while using wifi-direct.

 

To know how to connect the printer to the wireless router, refer to this document. Use the wireless password for your network.
