Hi, Thank you for posting in Hp support forum, I'wd like to help you out here.
First, Just try to make a 'Color Copy' of a color document on the printer to check if the New color ink cartridge is working fine, if it makes a color copy then follow the below steps:
- open the word doc to be printed
- click on 'File' and 'Print'
- Select 'printer properties' highlighted in blue under selected printer
- Choose 'color' tab at top, and make sure 'print in grayscale' is unchecked
If this did not help, [edit] for further troubleshooting.
Leave a 'Thumbs up' if it worked.

The printer prints in color from a pdf file or as a test page. When I am in MS Word and click on file and properties, there is no opportunity to switch from b/w to color. There is no reference to "color" on any of the three tabs (layout, printing shortcut orprinting quality).
Before I reinstalled the driver ver 40.11.1119.1786 I was able to switch from color to b/w printing.
In exploration of this issue, I read something about a conflict between MS Word and HP software causing this problem, but no resolution of how it could be fixed.

I just tried to print a jpeg file and when I clicked on the color tab and then print, it switched back to monochrome and the following message appeared, "color was changed because of a conflict with another printer setting."
