Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Another can't reset admin password and can't re-settup printer.

 

It was working but I needed to access settings... didn't know the admin password. So I tried network+X button reset... nothing. I tried "reset" (power + cancel) which printed a pile of stuff... but didn't reset the admin password... 

 

So now I can't setup the printer again... 

I tried connecting through USB - no luck, still stuck with password prompt.

I tried android / chrome OS HP Smart - no luck.

I tried connecting directly through wifi - which I can, but still stuck with the password prompt.

 

So, how do I do a good solid "forget evertthing" reset?

Welcome to HP support community.

 

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
