I LOVE the HP ePrint app on my Samsung Note 4 phone, ASUS laptop and ASUS transformer. Now I'm trying to get it to work on the Windows Surface Pro4. It was soooo easy to install on the android devices using the ePrint app from the Google Store. Now the Windows store doesn't have ePrint at all. I have the HP ePrint/Jet Advantage software loaded but the print job doesn't go anywhere. ! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm hoping someone can walk me through the steps to get me wireless printing to the Photosmart C5180 printer (same as my Asus laptop does). Thanks. 🙂

OMG I got it to work. During the install I was only given 2 choices: connect tablet by ethernet or by usb. Instead I chose the option that allowed me to continue the install and connect later. Once the driver was installed I then went to System Devices and chose Add a Printer from there. That's the window that gave me the access to installing wirelessly - Whoo hoo. What a painful process.....

Hey @HPJackie,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having some issues with printing from your Windows Surface Pro 4 to your Photosmart C5180 All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.
The issue you are having is the Surface Pro 4 compared to the other devices is that it is a Windows operating system and needs to have the drivers installed on it. You can download and install the latest drivers by clicking on this link.
Please let me know if you are able to print after installing the drivers. If you are, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Hi DocCottie. Thanks for getting back to me. I clicked on the link you provided only to realize, after the link starting to install the file, that I had already downloaded this program and had the printer connected via the ethernet. So I cancelled the installation and now have 2 problems 😞
1. I can't get out of this second installation.
2. Having done the initial install of the link you provided and loading the ePrint/Jet Advantage software, I still can't print wirelessly.
I'm at a loss what I need to do.

You can close an installation from the Task Manager. If you press CTRL+ALT+DEL on your keyboard and click on Start Task Manger, you can click on the stuck installer and End Task to close it.
Also, you do not want to choose the ePrint/Jet Advantage software, you want to use the regular drivers instead. Doing so should allow you to install everything and print.
Please let me know the results after following the above.

Hi again!
I was able to stop the 2nd install - Thank you.
I uninstalled the ePrint/Jet Advantage - Thank you.
The printer works fine if I connect it via USB to Ethernet but having difficulty understanding the steps to make it a wireless connection. Do I need to uninstall this again and NOT do the Ethernet setup? The wireless setup mentions using a different IP address than what my printer IP address is. Nonetheless when I enter the Printer IP address the software still doesn't find my printer.
And am I understanding that I should not need ePrint at all - just the downloaded file to get this to work wirelessly?
I'm feeling pretty frustrated at how difficult this is compared to just installing ePrint and it finds the printer. Thank you for being patient with me. 🙂

The ePrint driver allows a computer to print from anywhere in the world to the computer by using the printer's own email address. Your printer predates ePrint and most web services by a few years and is not compatible with that feature.
To connect the printer wirelessly, the install needs to be run and then during the installation select wireless. If the printer is already connected to a wireless network, you can add a print queue by typing Printers in your search bar, opening Devices and Printers, and clicking on Add Printer.
Please let me know if this allows you to print.

I had given up doing this install over the summer and have tried again. I am not given an option of choosing wireless. Only to connect by ethernet or USB. Are there any readers out there that have successfully connected to this printer wirelessly?
