Got a low toner warning after only 302 pages on the cartridge. Printer purchased new in March this year. Cartridge yield is supposedly ~1600 pages. We print only text, couple of letters a week, not graphics. Yield seems awfully low.

What is my recourse other than buying a new toner?

Hello, @HBjr2 – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums! I’d like to help 🙂

I understand that the page yield on your new printer was very less. I checked the toner specifications and yes, the page yield is ~1600 pages. Hence I’d suggest you contact the HP phone support to get the toner service options.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

Thanks for your help. Apparently, a new printer comes with what HP called "a starter" toner cartridge. it's rated for 400-500 pages.

Essentially it means you are buying just a printer.
