HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M476
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M476 AIO unit.

on page 116 of my user manual (Edition 4/2014) it says:

"Color, grayscale, and black and white define the number of colors possible.

You can adjust the scanner hardware resolution to up to 1200 ppi."

My problem is that I can not find a way to set the scanner resolution above 300 ppi.

Neither the HP Scan utility or the included ABBYY s/w allow me to select anything higher than 300 from the pull-down menu, and the front panel of the AIO does not have any capabiltiy to set the scan resolution either ... at least that I can find....

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

jim

Please try this scan solution:

HP Scan Extended

For Windows:   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

I confirm this works (but I found it to be painfully slow) ... still, it does allow higher resolution scans and that - after all - is what is wanted.

I guess I'll have to call in .... seems silly that I can't dial up higher resolution....

Or is the manual incorrect?
