Hi.  I just can't get my printer, HP264ABB (HP PageWide Pro 477dw MFP) to print payslips.  The paper is no thicker than what I normally use but each one causes a paper jam.  I have to get the payslip off the drum and cancel the job on the printer.

I have tried alterig the weight of the paper etc. and I am now hard pushed to know what to do.

If the paper is jamming with this special paper type then either the paper rollers are slipping/gripping too much or there is something off with the paper guides.

Checking the rollers is easy.  Wipe down the paper rollers in the area around the jam with a damp lint free cloth.  Let them dry and try again.  If you can get a page or two through then its a roller problem and can swap them out with a replacement roller kit.

Whenever you feed in custom paper be sure to check the paper guides in the tray.  This will make sure the paper is fed into the printer correctly and does not run into one of the sides of the paper path.  Make sure the paper guides are snug against the edges of the paper and try again.

Adjusting the thickness of the paper primarily impacts the printing process like the laser and the fuser.  You dont normally have to worry about this setting unless the current configuration is causing print defects.  Still, check the paper specs on the packaging material for your special payslip paper.  If it lists anything for laser printing then be sure to match everything up.  Many times you can look up the specs on the paper online if you can track down the paper manufacturer and specific product.
