Until a week or so ago I used to leave my LaserJetPro MFP M281fdw on all the time. It just went to sleep and the on/off button just winked regularly.
However it now goes to sleep then after a minute wakes up with a click and the display lights up. It then stays like this for another minute then sleeps again, thr display goes blank for a minute and repeats the cycles again.
Is there an easy fix for this please? Thanks
Graham

We can finally try a complete reset on the printer-
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps!

@grajay, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that the printer goes on and off while in sleep mode, let us try to isolate and resolve the issue.
Firstly, check the energy savings settings on the printer. Refer to the User Guide pages 88-89 for help.
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Restart the printer and see if that helps.
Keep me posted.

@TEJ1602 Thanks very much for your advice and suggestions. I have now completed all of what you advised, but unfortunately the problem still persists.
I have now got into a routine of switching my printer off each day when I finish any likely printing tasks and only switch it on when needed. Life is surely too short to be faffing about and after all, the printer works just fine. Thanks again.
