Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I downloaded the drivers required for my printer from the HP website, but when I open it, it says "extracting" and I'm using windows 10 64 bit when the process ends when it reaches 100% but my drive is not installed.

Drivers are downloaded in a compressed file format.  To install the drivers the PC must first extract and decompress the files.  If you machine cannot complete the extraction then the rest of the installation cannot continue.

 

Chances are you are hitting some kind of User Level Security setting on your current machine.  Try again, but this time donwload the file to a location outside of the temporary downwloads folder that your browser likes to use by default.  After the file finishes downloading then try to run the .exe "As Admin" to make sure the proper elevations are applied.  The .exe should be able to extract the files to your PC from there.

 

Once extracted most driver installations auotmatically launch.  If not you will have to track down where teh files were extracted to and launch the autorun, setup or install file by hand.  Follow the rest of the installation wizard instructions from there.
